Gero Fei discovered his passion for the drumset and percussion at the age of 12 and has ever since been travelling the world as a drummer.
The officially recognized drumset player and instrumental pedagogue for jazz and popular music graduated from the Frankfurt FMW jazzschool. Various study trips around the globe including study visits to the cosmopolitan cities of Havana / Cuba and New York / USA nourished his inspiration and enabled him to develop his unique style. Additionally, he completed a training project in Afro-Cuban percussion with master drummer Dudu Tucci, who is the only one to offer this singular instructional program in Europe, and he has also studied with such great teachers as Luis Conte or Professor José Amadt Medina (ISA, Havana).
In 2008, he attended an intensive training course at Drummers Collective, the renowned New York-based music institution. After having won himself a reputation as a musician playing with numerous artists and bands in the Rhine-Neckar region in Germany, he is currently working together with his latin band Brigada Especial, the gipsy-guitar project mocábo, the Trommelpalast samba ensemble and his percussion project HIT IT!
