Martin Röttger was one of the first musicians in Germany to establish the cajon as an adequate substitute for the drumset, which he has employed to accompany numerous internationally renowned artists at live performances until now: Ian Anderson, Lousiana Red, Chuck Berry, Toni Sheridan, Inga Rumpf, Tom Shaka, Vince Weber, Steve Baker, Abi Wallenstein and many more.
Martin Röttger has published a number of instructional books on cajon playing, which have already achieved cult status among cajoneros. Today, his personal style and playing technique are considered to have pioneered the use of the cajon as a drumset.
In the year 2007, Martin Röttger was the first instructor to offer cajon workshops within the framework of the “Schorndorfer Gitarrentage”.
Presently, he works as a freelance music lecturer for the Federal Music Council of Hamburg and the Dante Augustine School in Switzerland. As a workshop instructor, he coaches various projects, such as the Scharlatan Theater, Drum Café, Schlagfertig and the like.
So far, Martin Röttger´s cajon workshops have proved to be very successful in the most diverse situations and have been equally convincing to participants, specialist dealers, companies and schools.
Frequent studio productions and performances all over Europe add to his success.
