Tamburi Mundi Festival 2024

Tamburi Mundi in Freiburg is an international course, workshop and concert festival for frame drummers from all over the world. It is the world's largest festival for frame drums and took place for the 19th time in 2024.

The aim of the festival is to bring together and educate the different styles of frame drumming. In the evenings, internationally renowned percussionists, who also train during the festival, give concerts.

The founder and artistic director of this festival is the percussionist Murat Coskun, a well-known teacher of oriental percussion and frame drums.

Our Schlagwerk artist Max has been awarded this year's Tamburi Mundi Award.

"This prize is a recognition and appreciation of his tireless artistic work, his creativity and his great passion for percussion, which he has been passionate about since childhood. His frame drum playing combines the various influences and impulses of his career to date and he skillfully and tastefully incorporates frame drums into his percussion set. Max has already been part of Tamburi Mundi several times and has thrilled the audience as a soloist or in formations such as Delva or his Duo Percussiano. " -Tamburi Mundi
