
Paolo Rossetti Murittu
Paolo is a percussionist traditional singer from Florence, was born in a little rural village in Marche region, in central Italy and he grow up in one family of artisans and traditional musicians until 18 years. In this years he was learning one huge repertoire of dialect, poems, songs, sounds and expression, identity. He had the possibility to learn with this grandmother nonna Gina the way to sing and to be an artist, and with the maestro Alfio Antico, Glen Velez, Andrea Piccioni, Mehmet Hakatay from 2001 the Frame drums and the Tamburello and Tammorra. He is part of international movement of frame drums, invited since 2012 every year in TAMBURI MUNDI festival in Germany, the most biggest event around frame drums in the world. In 2015 was artist in residence in TAMBURI MUNDI.
From 1998 he was travelling around the world to learn the essence of the rhythm, in the various interpretation across the cultures. Trying to compare the various traditions he was learning and collecting material and musical elements during 10 years. He travel today frequently teaching and developing project of Community music in Asia (Iran), Latin America (Ecuador) Germany, Netherland, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain. Since 2016 is part of Musicians Without Borders one international organisation that promote the use of music education in war areas and in contrast of the global tension, using the Music for inclusion. With the association he is part of the team of the official Trainer for Community music leaders.
Among his repertoire of instruments Are particularly the traditional Italian percussion instruments like TAMBURELLO, TAMMORRA, castagnets and the voice, which in many traditional songs plays a significant role. Paolo is also a music therapist, very active and expert in the Benenzon Model (school of music therapy of Argentina) that works with people that have special requirements of education, with special needs people, ADHD , children, adults and elderly people. Expert for patients with autistic syndrome, he has been working in the educational music and music therapy setting since 2007 in cooperation with MUSICABILE ONLUS, (Rome), the University "UniversitX degli studi Roma 3" 0nd with the conservatory of Music of L'Aquila. Today he is involved in many project in the public schools of Florence and is the chairman of FARELA MUSICOTERAPIA his professional studio in Pontassieve.
He works intensively in several branches of the Italian health care system in Rome, Bologna , Torino following the Benenzon model of music therapy, or Musicians Without Border activities. He is a member of OSI (It0li0n Orff Schulwerk) and he also teaches preparatory music courses for children.
